Somehow I have had this book on my shelf for years, and never read it. Imagine! I have had a full on crush on Kurt Vonnegut since I could read, and his books only improve with age (mine, not his) -- I suppose that has more to do with me "getting it" than the book, since the pages obviously aren't re-writing themselves. Jailbird somehow seemed more timely than ever : the rogue tale of communists with big hearts who ultimately miss the prize. And so on.
