chill your drink in under 2 minutes!

I am always the last one to learn about these kinds of things, but I am still very excited about it! NO MORE WARM SODA!

This link shows you the simple technique for bringing your drink from room temperature to ice-cold in under 2 minutes with a bowl of ice water and some salt. This works for any drink (as long as it's in a closed container). So it's perfect for chilling those drinks that you forgot to put in the fridge before your company came over -- or even ones that have gotten warm while you're sipping them slowly!

According to MythBusters, to chill a drink to the same temperature in the freezer would take at least 30 minutes and then you risk it exploding, due to the Mpemba effect (warm liquids freeze faster than cold liquids) and the expansion of the carbonation. Then you'll end up with this in your freezer!

A million years ago, we actually had a machine that would do this for you! You popped a can of soda onto this spinner with suction cups and the little motor would whirl it around at top speed over the ice. Wonder what ever happened to that machine...

That's an awesome little machine! I love this trick b/c you can do it anywhere (providing that you have ice and salt). At the beach, I bet you could use ocean water and ice.... oooh! I need to test this!
