(NYSE: BBI, BBI.B) today said that in response to Wal-Mart’s announced discontinuation of its DVD rental service, BLOCKBUSTER Online is offering both walmart.com and Netflix online rental subscribers who switch their membership to BLOCKBUSTER Online two free months of service*, a free retail DVD of their choice and the opportunity to subscribe to BLOCKBUSTER Online at their current walmart.com or Netflix price for the next year.

Current paying subscribers to walmart.com or Netflix interested in switching to BLOCKBUSTER Online should forward their online cancellation from walmart.com or Netflix to blockbusteronline@blockbuster.com. The e-mail should include the specific offer and price. BLOCKBUSTER Online will then send customers a promotion code allowing them to take advantage of the special limited-time offer of two free months of service, one free retail DVD of their choice, including top new titles such as "National Treasure" and next week’s release of "The Aviator," and the ability to enjoy their online service at the same price they are currently paying from either walmart.com or Netflix for the next 12 months.
