Last night when we came home from gorging ourselves on turkey and stuffing and potatoes and ok, maybe there was a bit of chocolate cream pie thrown in too, I started working on notes for Evan. Evan is house sitting for us while we're on vacation next week, so I wanted to make a list of things like the quirks in the TV remotes, how to toggle between TV and DVD, where Ruckus's food is kept, and which of our neighborhood pools is heated year-round. So I started writing out our itinerary for him as well. And that's when I realized that DUH, our cruise returns on Saturday and not Sunday, thus we have 2 full days in Florida and no hotel for Saturday night. Whoops! Luckily, it wasn't a problem. I was able to get a great deal on a hotel and we decided to rent a car so that we can drive all around Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and see what there is to see. But we both had a good giggle at that... it would have been hilarious to show up at the hotel and have them tell us that we're a day early. ha ha

Instead, now we have time for sure to visit the Mai Kai tiki restaurant that Kevin suggested. And also the Swap Shop. Since we'll have a car and 48 hours of free time, I'm open to any suggestions for cool stuff to see/do in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Boca Raton area. I don't think we want to drive too far out of the area (like, say, keep us within 2 hours of our hotel in Ft. Lauderdale) but we're willing to cruise a bit for something interesting.
